At South Rome's Free Tutoring Center, our mission is to provide high-quality educational services to students of all ages and backgrounds. We believe that education is the key to unlocking a brighter future for all.
About our founder: Marquita Davis
Marquita Levette Wright-Davis is a dedicated community leader and advocate, celebrated for her commitment to education, mentorship, and social justice. Marquita is the founder and program director of the South Rome Community Association’s Free Tutoring Program, providing invaluable educational support to the community. Her leadership extends to serving as an NAACP Youth Advisor and Executive Board Member, where she plays a crucial role in guiding young minds and promoting civil rights.
In addition to her roles in the NAACP, Marquita is the Chairman of A Voice for Votes, advocating for voter education and engagement. She also serves as the secretary for the South Rome Community Association and as an administrative assistant at Main Elementary. At Main Elementary, she co-founded the AIM at Main mentor program, which offers additional support and guidance to students.

With over 15 years of experience working with children, Marquita has established herself as a mentor and youth advocate, tirelessly serving her community. She holds two degrees in Computer and Information Technology and has earned eight certifications in the industry, showcasing her dedication to personal and professional growth. In recognition of her contributions, Marquita was honored by the City of Rome during Black History Month in 2024. Beyond her professional endeavors, She is driven by a profound belief that God has given everyone a purpose, and she strives to fulfill her mission with heart and spirit, making a positive impact on those around her.
